Blues is a work about liberation and carries my story.
It hung in Dortmund, at a time when I wanted to break free from confinement and old patterns. I had left my home for the big city, searching for freedom – and suddenly found myself facing new inner boundaries. Two prisons that felt real and ultimately existed mostly in my mind – old patterns, old beliefs, the feeling of having to function.

When one chapter ended, this surface remained. I removed what was on it and created space. Space for color. Space for chance. Space for a new world.

This is how Blues emerged from an open process: color is allowed. It flows, reacts, repels, and finds new connections. Layer by layer, gates open. New spaces. New perspectives.

The work thrives on superposition, time, and chance. It evokes water, depth, movement. And for me, it encapsulates the moment when change becomes tangible.

Blues accompanies me to this day – in my self-development and in processing my childhood. That is precisely why it is a work that holds a special place in my life.
